Bringing Design to a Startup AI company
Smart Vision Works is a AI food inspection tech company. During my time at Smart Vision Works I have gotten to work on many different projects as it is a tech start up, I was able to work on the UX, UI, Graphic Design, and other design aspects of the company. I got the opportunity to work with PhD experts in AI, machine learning, and manufacturing.
Consistency and Speed of Development
One of the largest projects I worked on at Smart Vision Works was after a content audit we found over 34 different shades of blue the companies primary color in the code base. I was able to work with the development team and making a color system that developers could easily use and understand.
Problems
Developers didn't have any way to find brand colors quickly. This lead to developers taking extra time to find the color they need or use a random color that didn't fit with the company
Solution
Work with other departments to make official documentation about brand colors. Develop a color system and SCSS file for developers to use that speed up developers choosing colors by over 50%.
Reducing Dead Clicks
While I was at Smart Vision Works, I did some user research and discovered a problem with a table design that was leading to a lot of dead clicks. We noticed this issue during a usability study.

V2 Design Using Figma
I collaborated with developers and managers to create a complete design for a new version of one of the SVW products in Figma.
Design Process
By adding Figma into the development process allowed stakeholders to much more involved in the products design.
